Pupil Premium Strategy 2025-6

Pupil Premium provides funding and focus for our school, setting the achievement of children from disadvantaged backgrounds as a priority.

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. Its purpose is to provide additional funding to support schools in raising attainment for those children who are eligible for free school meals, or who are in the care of the local authority.

To find out if you are eligible for Free School Meals please see attached letter below.

Pupil Premium letter

We understand that gaps in attainment are challenging to close because causes are entrenched and complex. However the evidence is clear that good teaching is the most important lever schools have to improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils, and so this remains our primary focus. The causes and consequences of disadvantage are varied: Pupil Premium students are not a homogeneous group, and so in addition to ensuring a basic entitlement to good and better teaching, we will aim to address individual’s barriers to learning from a small but effective menu of additional provision. Wider strategies such as family support, parent partnerships, and our work around improving behaviour and attendance is the third tier, aimed at the most significant non-academic barriers to success.

Please see our Pupil Premium Strategy for more information.
