Remote Learning
Remote Education Provision: Information for Parents |
|
Attendance is mandatory for all pupils of compulsory school age. We will provide remote education to pupils in circumstances when in-person attendance is either not possible or contrary to government guidance. This might include:
- occasions when it is not possible for Oaklands Infant School to open safely, or that opening would contradict guidance from local or central government
- occasions when individual pupils, for a limited duration, are unable to physically attend their school but are able to continue learning, for example pupils with an infectious illness
In these circumstances pupils we will ensure pupils have access to remote education as soon as reasonably practicable, in proportion to the length of absence and disruption to their learning.
Should the need for remote provision arise, we will follow government guidance with regard to quantity of work: Key Stage 1 will be provided with around three hours a day on average across the cohort; less for those in reception.
Remote provision will be distributed via Tapestry. This may include signposting to National Oak Academy resources and other high-quality resources. Where children are unable to access online provision, we will endeavour to provide hard copies of materials which can be collected from the school office.
The senior leader with overarching responsibility for the quality and delivery of remote education is Mrs C Williams, the Headteacher.
The temporary provisions in the Coronavirus Act 2020 expired on 24 March 2022. As a result, the Remote Education (England) Temporary Continuity (No.2) direction no longer has effect.
